Antisemitism: Gateway to Jewish Identity - Part 3

We have established in previous articles that antisemitism at its root is an aversion to accountability to a Higher Authority that Jews inherently symbolize. It is not a product of Jewish social standing or conduct.

The Jewish people have historically showcased a commitment to life's ideals. This commitment began with our founding forefather, Abraham, and became manifest nationally at Mount Sinai upon accepting a Divine blueprint for an empowering human nobility, the Torah.

Anti-Semites that focus on either imagined or actual Jewish wrong doing while ignoring more blatant transgressions by others, inadvertently reveal their expectation for the Jew people to adhere to a loftier moral code.

Intriguingly, even when Jews renounce their mission or act unethically, the core antisemitic sentiment remains. A case in point is Fritz Haber. He was a German chemist of Jewish descent who received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1918 for inventing the Haber-Bosch process, a method used to synthesize ammonia from nitrogen gas and hydrogen gas. Haber was a patriotic German who converted to Christianity at age 25, long before the Nazis came to power. He served his country during World War I by developing chemical weapons. However, despite his contributions to Germany and his conversion to Christianity, he faced increasing antisemitism in the 1930s as the Nazis rose to power. In 1933, he was forced to resign from his position at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute due to his Jewish heritage. Another case in point is that Jewish gangsters in the US were still subject to the prevalent antisemitic tropes in the early 20th century.

We can transform the concern of rising antisemitism into empowerment by using antisemitism as a catalyst to investigate Jewish teachings that have shaped civilizations. Explore the wealth of Torah content available both online and offline to grasp the essence of Jewish identity and its application. You might find that Jewish practices essentially serve as a roadmap to unveiling your inner nobility, enriching your life with profound truths and their application in daily living.
